Psychotherapy Services FAQ

How much does it cost?  Do you take insurance?

I charge $150 per 50-minute session.  While I do not take insurance, I am more than happy to provide you with a 'superbill' of the services rendered and paid for by you.  Many insurance companies will accept a superbill from their members and offer reimbursement directly back to you, the member, depending on your plan's coverage.  I highly encourage you to review your insurance policy or contact your carrier to inquire about member-reimbursement for psychotherapy services.

Why don't you take insurance?

This is a very valid question!    There are two key reasons for this.  First, by not using insurance to pay for psychotherapy, your privacy is maintained to a greater degree due to the fact that therapy notes and diagnosis' are not requested by your insurance carrier.  This is quite important for some individuals while less so for others.  Second, due to the limited size of my practice, it can be quite difficult to manage a large panel of potential carriers, which makes taking insurance a challenge for a practice like mine.  In sum, by not accepting insurance, it allows both of us to spend more time focusing on what's really important...you.
